antisocial?

*don't worry , there is a picture in this post! keep reading!

you know when you get done with your studying faster than you planned on? and it's friday night and so you really don't feel like studying anymore? and it's snowing out so you can't go running or you will freeeeeze? but, you are avoiding going home because then you have be social, and be around treats and unhealthy food, and possibly not sleep, and probably talk about boys. and you just don't feel up to it.

that's me tonight. i got done with group therapy and then did the homework i needed to do, and even some extras! but i'm still in the library, in my little cave called the first floor. listening to He is We, Joshua Radin, Alicia Keys, and Blake Shelton.

i caught up reading all my blogs today. (and by "caught up" i mean that i read the posts that looked interesting slash funny.) yeah, i'm a major slacker and i don't expect it to get better anytime soon. i mean what do you want me to post about? how we learned about the renal system in pathophysiology this week and Brock and i decided that although the kidney is very important it's definitely the most boring organ to talk about. or i complain about the snow and how i hate the cold and how my feet got wet because boots are already leaky. or i could tell you about how i pretty much would live off goldfish crackers if that were possible. i guess you knew that already. . .

i've been working on overcoming fears and facing scary situations this week. it wasn't actually intentional. but it's turned out that way. it's been. . . good. they say that whatever doesn't kill you makes you stronger. i'm not dead yet. and i want so badly to be fearless.

sometimes i wish things could just go back to the way they were. like the perfect day, if i could go back to it, would be september 28. or october 4. but you can't go back. you just keep moving forward.

i've been delaying posting about this, buuuut (duh duh duh) i'm doing the 21 Day No Junk Food Challenge again! i didn't post about it when i started last thursday because if i totally failed i didn't want ya'll to know and secretly judge me. but i'm more than a week in and i have not caved- even though i have been sorely tempted! this is a big reason i don't want to go home tonight because there is going to be mountains of delicious treats, found on pinterest, made by girls in my ward, and i don't know if i can control myself. i guess i should go and prove to myself that i can. i will post more about this after it's ended (it ends on Thanksgiving).

this week has been so emotional. what with family health problems, heavy tests, and the usual dating stuff. you know.... and if you don't. well you can ask. i'd rather not talk about it on my blog. but yesterday i was so worn down and stressed. i couldn't concentrate on anything. i was worried. i was lonely. i wished for things to change. i just wanted a quick fix. but i didn't get that. i just had to go face stuff. buck up. and i did. and i'm proud of that.

i really can't delay going home for much longer. i've run out of things to look at on pinterest. and facebook is a bore. so please, if you made it to the end of this post and actually read all of it, comment below, and then go get yourself some ice cream, oreos, pizza, brownies, or french fries. and eat them for me. kthanks bye.
*basically i also miss this. and these kiddos. and also because i think posts without pictures are very boring.

ps. if you have noticed i have mentioned therapy a couple times in a few posts recently. don't worry guys, i will tell you the story behind that. just not now.

reason i'm awesome #692

not to toot my own horn but i found out today that i have "ideal" posture. (thank you orthopedic impairments and therapeutic exercise.)

now if that ain't attractive, then i don't know what is. (yet another reason boys should be lookin' to date me. i mean.... come on, that is hard to resist. right?!)

on to a more serious note, i noticed that i stink at posting lately. mostly because school is cray cray. i worked almost 30 hours last week and studied like a maniac in order to stay caught up in all my classes and get ready for my first pathophysiology test!

wow how boring can my life get? well let me tell you. i go to school around 8:30 and get home between 5 and 7. i eat dinner and then study more- i usually try to go up to campus again. so if you really want to find me, i'll be on the first floor of the HBLL. because it's much more peaceful down here.

except when they are vacuuming. cough cough

please excuse how terribly exciting my life is right now.

ps. i'd really love a good back massage right now.

weekend rewind

this last weekend was fantastic.

but let's rewind to thursday. [i like to think that my weekend really starts on thursday because i don't have class that day. it's brilliant.]

i was sick tuesday, wednesday and thursday. but i had a date thursday night. i was excited but not happy that i was sick. going a date when you are sick is laaaame. however the date was the perfect "sick date"! not to mention it was great company. we went to zupas [secretly i was hoping we would go there because there is no comfort food like zupas] and then yogurtland. if you live in orem/provo area and have not been to yogurtland then i highly suggest that you drop everything and go there- tonight. my favorite yogurt flavors (so far) are oatmeal cookie dough, pistachio, and lemon blackberry mint. yum. we took our froyo to rock canyon park and just talked. plus, my date was nice enough to give me much needed cold medicine. thursday night was the first night i had really slept all week. hooray!
date night= success.

friday night was football again Utah State. please, my aggie friends, allow me to be loyal to my school. k thanks. i think a lot of usu fans think that there is this huge rivalry between us and them. there isn't. we have lost to them one time in the last 11 years. and yes, although i am aware that friday's game was close, byu football is known for their fabulous come-backs. so, although i wanted to win and i was more than thrilled at the miraculous win, its not nearly as ecstatic as i would have been if we had beat u of u. ok, back to the game. i hung out with kendra. it was pretty awesome. we got foam fingers and screamed a lot. at separate time in the game i: cried, almost had an aneurysm, shook like a leaf from anticipation, and yelled my voice hoarse. my favorite part was yelling "riley! riley! riley!" [bronco- i think it's time we let riley start. what d'ya say?] after the most epic win of the season i went out and watched Megamind with some really fabulous people.
game day+movie night= epic.

saturday i was at home for GC [General Conference]. general conference weekend is always awesome. i am thrilled beyond belief for the temple in DR Congo! that is so close to Uganda and i think it will make it a lot easier for members in Uganda to attend. yay! all my mbale branch friends will be much closer to the blessings of the temple! in between sessions i went to a student council reunion. not everyone was able to make it but it was so fun to catch up with Chan, Josh, Michelle [and hubby Justin], Heather [plus bf, Justin], Chelsey, Kayci, and Jen. pretty much everyone is all grown up! crazy. saturday night, during Priesthood session, mumsy, sarah and i went to Draper, to have a girls night with the Olsons. the view where they live is gorgeous so we had to stop and take a few pics. i forgot to take my camera off landscape setting so some of them are blurry. my bad. at Olson's we had peach pie and watched the movie "17 Miracles." i was skeptical about this since its not really a "girls night" type movie. but it was actually really good! it made me want to go back to martin's cove! [good thing my home stake is going there for youth conference next year and i hope i can go with.] we got home around 11 but that didn't stop Sarah and i from staying up until 3 am. we were talking- about everything. hey, if she is gonna be gone for 18 months, i gotta get all the talking in before she is gone!
gc+stu co reunion+girls night= fun fun fun.

sunday was another blessed day of conference. the weather was glorious so after the last session i convinced joseph and ben to go on a short walk. we took mikka too. it was beautiful! i went home [to provo] that night which is the only down side of the great weekend. sitting in my apartment editing pictures is not exactly an exciting way to end the weekend. but that's ok.
blessed day of rest= relaxing.

the first weekend was awesome. i hope that the second weekend is even better!

day 25. what would i find in your bag.

sorry about the lack of exciting posts as of late. i have been busy. sometimes being busy is good. it keeps you from falling apart. so day 24 was lame and i decided to skip it. i follow this other cool blog that is doing a way cooler 30 posts in 30 days, but i can't start it now so oh well. perhaps in a year i will do it? i think yes.

what would you find in my bag? i own many bags, but i use them very rarely. i have a "pacha" bag from Peru that is usually my bag of choice because it is easy to carry and holds books. i usually only take that bag when i go "out". thus it holds- wallet, camera, planner (possibly), lip gloss, and gum. i only take the bare essentials. i hate mary poppins bags that hold everything from a used tissue to that orange you forgot you took up to campus for lunch and never ate. i also have my backpack which, of course, holds my massive amounts of textbooks, my scriptures, lunch, water bottle and laptop. finally there is my gym bag which is home to my running shoes, leggings, shorts, sports bra, t shirts, head band, gloves, water bottle, and towel. love it.

i promise tonight (hopefully) i will post about week 1 of winter semester 2011, and tell you about my weekend which was quite eventful. until then, i'm off to read some physiology. happy monday!

don't worry, eventually i'll get back to real blogging. the start of a new semester has been. . . hard. but i'll tell ya'll about it asap.
i need to decide on a good name for my new blog- featuring my experience with HELP International in Uganda this summer.
Here are a few ideas i've come up with on my own-

We are the World

Do good because of tomorrow

I am…. The Change

which do you like best?
if you have any other (more creative) ideas please tell me!

ps this is how i felt after cla
ss and work yesterday- total of 10 hours straight on campus. phoo.

the dungeon

hey you.
yeah you. sitting where i normally study here on the first floor of good ol' harold. i don't really appreciate that you are down here. or that you brought all your loud friends. my normally peaceful, secluded study cave has been inhabited with you people desperately trying to cram for the final you definitely did not study for all semester. well, i'll let you in on a secret: studying on the first floor is only for the hard core. if you haven't been down here all semester, you won't last long. that's why you are joking with your friend, watching your favorite tv show, or perhaps falling asleep and drooling. yes, the first floor may have magical powers. but they are expressly given to those most dedicated (maybe antisocial) students. so, if you please, could you get out of my cubby? go up to the periodicals or the 4th floor, and leave me. in peace. alone. in my happy dungeon.

sincerely,

me
