There are few people that I call my heroes. And even fewer who I know personally. One of those few is Chad Pinkston. I didn't know Chad very well. I always knew who he was, but it wasn't until senior year of high school that I became more acquainted with him. Chad had cancer. Although he wasn't able to attend school the first half of senior year, he took three classes second semester. It was wonderful to see he in the halls. I was privileged to have him in my A Capella class. Chad and I weren't good friends. I would have to say that I admired him from afar. But Chad was amazing. Despite the fact that he was bald and had cancer which made him very tired, Chad always came to class with a smile on his face. Chad didn't let his cancer determine who he was. Chad decided who Chad was. Chad had great dreams. He was named one of the 14 teens from Utah Valley who would change the world. Even though Chad has passed to the other side, he will still change the world. through his memory. I know he has changed my life. I know that Chad will still influence people. He is going to be a great missionary on the other side. He will bring many people to Christ. I am grateful to have known him. He is one of the most Christlike people I have been privileged to know. I honor his memory.
