over the river and through the woods

i'm back from Thanksgiving Break! And can i just tell you it was fantastic?? Going home is positively wonderful. It's amazing how much more I appreciate and love my family since I "moved out" last fall! We hardly ever fight anymore... not that we fought before (he he). We just have so much fun together.

Home. What is it really? What does it mean? I say I'm "going home" to my Provo apartment and it is a terr
ific place that I love being. But it's true when they say "there's no place like home". My home is the place I can go and be myself all the time. I don't have to worry about what people are thinking. I love that at home we can finish each other's sentences. We have the same inside jokes that we've had for years. I love every member of my family. I love that we are all unique, yet we fit together. Like the pieces of a puzzle, in which no piece is the same, we are all different and play different roles. But together we mesh and form a beautiful picture.

Thanksgiving Day 2009 began with a race. A 5K to be exact. My Grandpa Thomas, mom, me, and my brother Hyrum ran the Cottonwood Heights Thanksgiving 5K. It was my very first race and it was just fantastic! I wasn't sure if I would like racing all the much... but let me tell you, the adrenaline rush you get when you can see the finish line, well, its just amazing! I was so pumped after the race that I'm pretty sure I could have run another race! My next goal: Half Marathon baby.

The food at Thanksgiving is amazing. Here is what my family ate (in great amounts): turkey and stuffing, mashed potatoes and gravy (if you are me you put gravy on the stuffing and the turkey as well), yams from heaven, rolls, olives, apple and banana salad. My family loves pie. We made many different kinds this year: pumpkin, chocolate- butterscotch, chocolate, cherry, lemon- sour cream, and apple- cranberry. Yum!
Of course Saturday's highlight was that BYU killed U of U in the "Holy War"! Go BYU!
