Playing with all our dolls- pretending we were their moms- dividing up our Halloween candy among them and then pretending they got sick.
Barbie dolls- we had an entire, intricate story figured out complete with a villain and r

Lying in bed at night talking about every thing from school to dishwashers until i was too tired to talk anymore.
Decorating our bedroom for Christmas.
Taking forever to deep clean our bedroom, probably getting lost in a game of Barbies, or maybe deciding to rearrange all the furniture.
One Christmas night we stayed up in my upstairs room, putting on makeup and taking funny pictures.
I admire my sister so much. She has done things that I could never do! She is currently a music performance masters student at the U of U and plays the cello in the Orchestra at Temple Square. She has worked her behind off to become a good cello player and she loves it. She has taught me about following personal revelation and sticking to your standards. Starting when she was like 10 Sarah wrote and directed a Christmas Nativity play for the neighborhood children to perform. I've learned from her that you should follow your dreams and do what you love, no matter what others say about your ability to do so. Sarah gets excited when I succeed and is always there for me when I fail or my heart breaks.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY SARAH!!!
I smile because you are my sister. I laugh because there is nothing you can do about it :)
Rebekah, you win. You are such a beautiful daughter. Please don't let recent events convince you otherwise. These feelings are why I didn't ever feel very good about what was happening. You deserve someone who adores you and sees you for all the lovely depth you have.
ReplyDeleteP.S. I love your blog.
