Breaking Free

I've been a complainer. My last two posts have been down right depressing, to say the least. I'm not going crazy on you so don't worry people! And I am so thankful to you people who comment on these posts and give me advice and keep me going!
On Tuesday, I didn't think I could keep going anymore. I felt like all my dreams were crumbling in a heap around me. I was a hopeless and directionless blob. I had to get down and truly humble myself. I pleaded for a tender mercy, something or someone to help me get through this hard time when I feel stupid and alone. No miracle occurred- not right away at least. But the Lord works through small and simple things.
1. My Grandpa Thomas sends all the college kids a quote for every month. Mine came in the mail yesterday. I wasn't thrilled, but he always has good quotes. The one for February is:
Destiny is not a matter of chance,
it is a matter of choice;
it is not a thing to be waited for,
it is a thing to be achieved.
William Jennings Bryan

I have felt like it is my "destiny" to help people, to go to places where they cannot provide themselves with good health and help them achieve that. I always knew I would have to go to school to fulfill that destiny, but I guess I always just thought I could breeze through (like I did in high school). No- if you really want something you have to work for it. Its like swimming or violin. I'm not going to be able to skim the top. Nope, I am going to work my hardest so I can fulfill my destiny!!!
2. My mom. Okay everyone who loves their mom- raise their hand. 100%? Good. I don't need to say anything else.
3. Letters, Letters, Letters!!! Mexican mail is so slow! I
got two letters today from Brian- both written in December. Oh well, stupid corrupt Mexican government. Stupid ganstas. These two letters made my life!!! Especially the awesome drawing Brian drew depicting Christmas in Utah and Christmas in Mexico. Ha ha he kills me- still! He is doing so great! He had the awesomest birthday! Did you know in Mexico they give the birthday person a cake and then they shove their face into it?? Ba ha ha ha. I would totally dig that! If someone does that to me on my birthday I don't think I would complain! But I am so happy to know that Mexico did not eat him. He did not forget about me either. Mexican mail is just extremely slow. Oh well, I can live with that. I can TOTALLY live with that.

4. Yay for good friends! I just wanna name a few names of people who have truly been great: Amberly Hurst, Jessican White, Megan Davis (yeah you are awesome! thanks!), and Neal Ferrin. Thanks you people!
Yeah I'm King of the Rock and I won't let nothin bring me down!

  1. Was not expecting to see my name there!! You're awesome! Just keep moving forward and follow your dreams! Failing is better than not trying. I can testify to that. You're so cool!

    By the way, missionary letters rock my world too! Love them! Especially when it's from a bestie.
