"to love another person is to see the face of God"

Last week I went and saw this amazing musical- Les Miserables- at Pleasant Grove High School. On a scale of 1 to 10 I give it.... an 11! It was just that amazing. With a star cast of teens age 18 and younger, the production was an inspiration. In many cases I think these high school drama kids did better than Broadway... Eponine (played by Melissa Jenkins) for example. Or Enjolras (played by Sam Norton). Phenomenal.
After seeing Les Miserable at the Capitol Theater seven years ago, I decided that I wanted to be Gavroche. Two problems: 1. I was too old to play a 6-8 year old. 2. I am not a boy. But I just love when he sings "Little People!" And it is so tragic when he dies singing it! At PGHS the boy who played Gavroche was so good! I cried so hard when he died!
(Ok I cried pretty much the whole play. It's hard to see people you know and care about dying... even if it's fake)
My little brother, Spencer, was in the play. He is amazing! I was so proud of him! I always wanted to try out for a play in high school, but for different reasons, I never did. I'm proud of him for having the guts to do something I never could do. I know he made so many great friends through doing the play and he strengthened his amazing musical talent!
From now on whenever I think of Les Mis I am going to think of a crowded auditorium and my brother singing "Do you Hear the People Sing"
